Description and notes:
This once popular sailing club has become the central hub of shipping and commerce around the lakes. Their fleet of boats that range in size from 8 to 26 feet are now used to pickup and deliver shipments of food and other resources. This location acts primarily as offices and repair yard for the group, and as a landing place for easy transport of good up to the Capitol Square Market. There are many different tools and hardware here, but seldom any stored or stockpiled shipments of goods.
There are approximately 50 fiberglass sailboats of varying sizes, 20 plastic kayaks, 30 metal canoes, 35 windsurfing rigs, and assorted equipment that is stored at this location.

The Hoofers club was once divided into different groups for sailing, skiing, horseback riding, scuba diving and other recreational activities. The group has now united and they dominate the trade network in the Madison area. The horse corps facilitate collection of shipments in several locations around the lake, while the boats bring them into downtown. Cross country skiing groups now act as small scale delivery services in the winter time, and occasionally as a kind of postal service. Scuba gear, made of different kinds of rubbers and plastics is degrading rapidly. Most of the shallows were scavenged clean years ago, but a brave individual with trust in the gear and a lot of courage could strike it rich in the deeper parts of the lake.
